By the turn of the century, the Hampton Organization purchased the house and utilised the complicated to dye cotton goods developed at the West Boylston Manufacturing Company. After the Second Globe War, the mill would fall into many hands, which includes Textron, American Thread, and Fuller Fabrics till it finally closed in 1962.

In March 2005, it finalized the purchase of Seminis Inc, making it also the largest traditional seed organization in the world. It has more than 18,800 staff worldwide, and an annual income of USD.365 billion reported for 2008.
Monsanto’s development and marketing of genetically engineered seed and bovine development hormone, as nicely as its aggressive litigation and political lobbying practices, have made the company controversial around the globe and a principal target of the anti-globalization movement and environmental activists.
