At 232 Moseley Street.

Anchor Inn history

A handful of passages from the above link.

Interestingly, on the really identical day the Granger Estate leased Nos.232-4 Moseley Street [formerly The Old Plough Inn] to Rushton’s Brewery Ltd who agreed to spend an annual rent of £38.0s.0d.

James Finnemore kept The Plough and Harrow on the corner of Moseley Street and Rea Street at the end of the 19th century. This creating was converted into a café in current years.

Birmingham 1969 – 1973

This was on Birmingham History Forums

Additional down Rea St, on the corner of Moseley St , was Bob’s Café, previously Bradley’s Café. In 1944 it was run by Mrs Alice Bradley, and described as coffee rooms, though I’m a bit dubious as to the availability of coffee in 1944.. Coffee rooms was how it had been described, below various owners, for 40 years, but preceding to that it was occupied by a boot &amp shoe manufacturer. The original use about 1880, however appears to have been as refreshment rooms.

Forgotten St Patrick’s Day Irish bunting, now faded (why do some pubs / cafes overlook to take the bunting down and let them to fade in the rain?)
